Spring arrived with a highlight here: on April 13, we invited everyone to an open house to celebrate the reopening of our newly renovated guest rooms. Under the motto “NEIGSPITZT” (a local expression meaning “curious peek”), guests explored the new spaces and joined in a lively celebration.
The festive blessing of the new rooms had already taken place on April 8. Present were the involved craft businesses, members of the press, friends, as well as Mayor Regina Wohlpart, Tourism Director Michael Heger, and Thomas Reichert from the district office. Our team members Lisa and Melanie, who led the project, gave initial insights into the extensive renovation efforts. Pastor Christian Montag then blessed each room individually—a symbolic beginning of a new era of hospitality.
The following Sunday, the guesthouse opened its doors to the public. Many visitors—including former Forchheim Beer Queen Melanie Streit, who is currently a candidate for Bavarian Beer Queen—took the opportunity to tour the 16 lovingly modernized rooms and a newly redesigned holiday apartment. The great interest created a cheerful atmosphere and well-attended tours through the rooms and brewery.
The festivities also delivered culinary delights: Franconian lunch specials, warm dishes served throughout the day, coffee and cake, plus Easter crafts and face painting for the kids made for a fun-filled afternoon. Music came from the band “Asphaltstürmer,” whose hearty tunes kept spirits high in the beer garden.
The New Guest Rooms – Franconian Modern Style with Beer Charm
The highlight of the day was clearly our new guesthouse – and it truly stands out. The rooms shine in new splendor and charm with individual design and Franconian coziness, all with a “beery” touch. Each room is named after a Weiherer beer variety – from the “Grünhopfen Pils” to the “Hopferla Room.” The design reflects the character of each beer: room numbers made from old barrel lids, hop-themed lights, and custom-made soaps and shampoos with beer ingredients are just a few of the creative details giving each room its own special flair.
Functionality was also top of mind: “Our family room has a sofa that quickly converts into a bunk bed – perfect for families with kids,” says Melanie Kundmüller. “We also offer small extras to borrow – from hand mirrors to chargers, so our guests feel completely at home.”
Lisa Reinhardt is especially pleased with the quick and successful execution of the project and highlighted the achievement of the involved businesses: “The renovation came together quickly and perfectly, and it’s just fantastic to see our guests share our excitement. After more than 30 years, it was time for a fresh breeze. A special thank-you goes again to the regional companies that brought our ideas to life and captured every detail so beautifully.”
Conclusion:
NEIGSPITZT was a complete success! And for those now eager to experience the new rooms for themselves – don’t wait too long: summer bookings are already underway. Reservations can be made directly through our website.
