A great honor for us! Since our former apprentice, Johannes Hartmann, won the German Championship for the brewing and malting trade last year, the national competition was held this year, on November 4th, here with us in Weiher. This year, four state champions from Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saxony competed in the extensive, multi-hour contest. The exams tested not only the participants’ theoretical expertise but, above all, their practical skills in key areas of the brewing process. All performances were evaluated by an independent expert jury. Among the examiners were our managing director and brewmaster Roland Kundmüller and our brewer Peter Schaaf. In the end, Simon Schnüll, trained at Brauhaus Nittenau in the Upper Palatinate, emerged as national champion and thus as the German Master Brewer and Maltster 2025.
